Mont Marte White Gesso Primer
The Mont Marte Gesso primer is formulated for the use of acrylics or oils on any commonly used painting surface. The Gesso is flexible and can be applied in thin layers to conform to a variey to textured surfaces without cracking. For oil painting over acrylic gesso, it is recommended that at least three layers of gesso be applied. It is a bright white opaque primer with an absorbent character. Used to prepare canvas, wood, paper, card and other porous surfaces for painting.
- Apply at least two thin coats of Gesso for a smooth surface with a wide brush
- May also be applied with a palette knife for a more textured effect
- Touch dry within 2 hours, longer for heavier application
- May be slightly thinned with water for easier application
